The JK Food Group is excited to announce an educational partnership with Johnson & Wales University. We are now able to offer internships and jobs to students, and a reduced tuition rate for our employees who would like to attend any online, undergraduate and graduate programs. Founded in 1914, Johnson & Wales University has expanded to Providence, North Miami, Charlotte and Denver and has a global impact with alumni from at least 125 countries. Through the JWU College of Online Education, students have access to 80+ industry-relevant online degree programs.
We connected with JWU through Toro executive chef Josh Elliott, who graduated from the North Miami campus, Suma Cum Laude in 2011.
“The opportunity to intern or extern at a company like ours, owned and operated by two James Beard Award–winning chefs, gives students invaluable life experience to draw from when they graduate and head out into the workforce,” said Elliott. “Additionally, the partnership allows us to provide our employees the added benefit of access to an exceptional JWU education taught by industry-experienced faculty."
Brian Fernandes is the Business Development Coordinator at JWU Online, and has facilitated the partnership. And we’re in good company, other corporate partnerships include the Boston Bruins and TD Garden. “We’re happy to be able to deliver industry-relevant degree programs to JK employees and are looking forward to how we can collaborate going forward,” said Fernandes.
If you’re interested in joining the JK team at any of our restaurants, we’re hiring. Please visit our websites or Culinary Agents.
